Prakash Trading Company, a family-owned business in supply and distribution of electrical and lighting solutions, traces its history to the early 1960s in Dubai, then still a small trading outpost on the Gulf coast, part of the then Trucial States.
The company’s journey began in 1962, with operations in supply and distribution of electrical and lighting solutions from a single retail outlet in Al Sabkha, Deira – the then trading hub of Dubai – where importers, exporters, wholesalers and retailers used to meet and carry out business transactions. It is one of the first business licenses to be granted by Dubai Municipality.
Over the years, Prakash Trading Company grew from strength to strength and expanded its business both horizontally and vertically from a single outlet to a network of stores, logistics operations serving a growing network of distributors, dealers and retailers by adding some of the most sought-after international brands and product catalogues to its portfolio of products. Headquartered in the emirate of Dubai, Prakash Trading Company has a strong retail operation in the central business district of Deira, supported by a centralized logistics base in excess of 225,000 square feet at Dubai Investments Park. The company also has satellite sales and logistics facilities in Umm Ramool, Dubai, Sharjah and Mussafah Industrial Area of Abu Dhabi. Its logistics and distribution operation is supported by a fully automated system backed up with a fleet of commercial vehicles that support our operation across the network and covers all aspects of the operations – import, export, wholesale distribution as well as supplying to clients.
